New Content for Duty Officers Club Section

Welcome from the Chief Duty Officer

Unique among Clubs in Western Australia is the Fremantle Sailing Club’s Duty Officers Section.

They are a group of selected volunteer members who act as Club ambassadors and hosts at official club functions, represent the Club in the broader community and provide backup support for members around the clubhouse. While their role continues to include supervision of standards and adherence to the requirements of our liquor licence their main activity is assisting members over the weekends while “manning” the Club foyer desk on Saturdays and Sundays and encouraging courtesy and harmony within the Club. Please email the Chief Duty Officer, for more information.

About us

Fremantle Sailing Club’s Duty Officers

Duty Officers provide essential support around the Club, assisting members with queries and extending a warm welcome to visitors. You’ll find them on the jetties and around the hardstand areas each weekend, both during the season and in winter.

They work 4-5 hours per day and can connect members with the Harbour Master, Duty Manager, and other staff. They also offer a "Justice of the Peace" service for passport renewals and official documents on weekends.

The team organizes the Annual Children's Christmas Party every December, a much-loved event for kids aged 1-12.

If you’re interested in becoming a Duty Officer, contact Section Captain Alex Retallick at 0414 305 435 or [email protected]
