Success Cup
FUN AFFORDABLE OFFSHORE RACING
Fremantle Keelboat Racing Section has made several significant changes to the Success Cup Series aimed at making all the races in this offshore series an enjoyable day race with a great social event at the conclusion.
Including the most iconic of the WA short offshore races, including Coventry Reef, Foundation Day and Mandurah Weekend with the addition of a revised West Coaster, all races are approximately 45 nautical miles long ensuring they are completed during daylight hours leaving time for all competitors to have a social catch up at presentations on the day.
Having Fun is Number One
Open to yachts from all clubs, the series includes two divisions sailing on different length courses designed to ensure that all yachts are back in the club within an hour of each other and able to participate in the social presentation event before it is dark
IRC and PHF handicap for both divisions to encourage all types of boats and level of competitors
Auto helm is permitted to be used by all boats so that those who are short handed on a day can still get through some of the maneuvers requiring an extra set of hands
Introduction of the Club 35 trophy for boats sailing with crew that are under 35 years of age to encourage Owners to bring younger participants into the club
Award of an individual prize for the under 35 participants on the winning boat in each division of PHF
Prize draw at the presentation for the female sailor of the day
Affordability is Key
Entry is free to all FSC members and has been reduced to $50 per race for sailors from other clubs ($150 last Year)
No Association fees need to be paid to compete in the FSC Success Cup
Over-night berthing is available for any participating boat from other clubs
All races are Cat 4 keeping the cost of safety gear to a reason level
Only Standard IRC certificates are required removing the cost requirements to obtain and maintain an endorsed IRC certificate. Boats do not need to be weighted, sails do not require measurement certificates attached, and most measurements can be completed by the owner for a standard certificate.
