Hello GIFAA Members

As previously advised, GIFAA and our key stakeholders are monitoring very closely the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have received feedback that over the last weekend GIFAA members were abiding by the rules and doing the right thing. Well done team!! Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for some of the other visitors to the Island. There were reported incidents of rafting and people not abiding by the current social distancing requirements.
In order to comply with current government social distancing guidelines and do our bit to preserve the ongoing use for our members, your committee has agreed that effectively immediately

• The use of GIFAA moorings is restricted to members only
• New GIFAA memberships will not be processed until further notice.
• We also recommend that all vessels visiting the island must have only the GIFAA member and their immediate family members on board as per the government social distancing guidelines.

Please note that if you are currently visiting the toilets of picnic areas, surface cleaning product has been supplied in all areas. Please use this for maintaining hygiene in these areas and do not take the product with you.
If visitors continue to disregard current social distancing requirements further steps will be taken and this may include closure of all BBQ’s and restricting access to all facilities at both Herring Bay and Pig Trough Bay
