Get the Kids on the Ocean!
Try Sailing for kids is about creating an opportunity in a fun and friendly environment to give sailing a go. No previous sailing experience is required, and all equipment including small boats and lifejackets are provided.

Course Prerequisite
- Water confident
- 7 – 10 years-old
10 – 12 hour course over 4 Saturday mornings during the Summer Season or as a School Holiday adventure. All courses are run by qualified Australian Sailing Instructors.
Course Outcomes
- Weather introduction
- Learn how to set up your boat for sailing
- Understand points of sail to the wind
- Leaving and coming back to the beach
- Capsizing
- Sailing in a straight line
- Towing
- Tacking (turning the boat around)
Like many sports, parents are an integral part of the learning and development process, they form a key link in the program and are encouraged to be involved from the outset. This course is the perfect opportunity for the family to decide if they would like to join the Club community.
