Shipwreck Discoveries with Graeme Henderson 🌊

Join us for a captivating evening with Graeme Henderson, whose fascination with shipwrecks began at just 16 when he discovered the 1656 wreck of the Dutch East India Company ship Gilt Dragon near Perth. His efforts helped establish the WA Shipwrecks Museum and later the renowned WA Maritime Museum, home to the famous Australia II.

Graeme’s work has contributed to international efforts in underwater cultural heritage preservation, including persuading UNESCO to ratify the 2001 Convention on Underwater Cultural Heritage. In recent years, he has been uncovering stories about shipwrecks around Cocos and Christmas Island.
