From the Helm
The new Board of Management are settling in well with two Board meetings under its belt to date. New members are Michael Chappell – Board of Trustees, Michael Webb – Treasurer, Steve Parkinson – Rear Commodore Sail and Charlotte Osborne, Dave Kenny and John Rayner – Board Members.
The staff and volunteers have been very active over the past two months culminating in very successful Open Day and Opening Day. I thank all of the staff, volunteers and sponsors who have contributed to these important Club events. What a glorious day for Opening Day, compared to last year’s blustery conditions. The day turned on a nice breeze for the sail past and the subsequent events. Thanks to all who participated.
A reminder about the upcoming Information Night/Town Hall meeting on 25th of this month. Main topics will be the increased maintenance fees, an update on the DOT lease, and impact of the DOT lease on sub-lease holders. We encourage all interested members to try to attend this evening. A notice of the meeting with further information will be distributed next week.
Finally, after many years, we have reinstated FSC’s participation in the Fremantle Blessing of the Fleet, that will be held on Sunday 23rd October. This a great chance for us to work towards being integrated members of the Fremantle community.
Happy boating for the new season.
Phil
