Appointment of New Chief Executive Officer
On behalf of the Board, I am pleased to advise members and staff of the appointment of Mr Jeremy Wilton as the new Chief Executive Officer of Fremantle Sailing Club.
Jeremy will commence with FSC on 24 June 2026, relocating to Fremantle from England, following more than 30 years in senior executive leadership across sailing, sport, and complex, member based organisations.
Most recently, he completed his tenure as Chief Executive of the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) in the United Kingdom, one of the world’s most respected and internationally recognised sailing clubs. In this role, he led the organisation through significant periods of development, including major international events, infrastructure investment, and a strong focus on member experience and organisational performance.
In addition to his sailing background, Jeremy has held senior leadership roles within the brewing/retail sector, elite sport and major venue operations, including Chief Operating Officer at Wasps Rugby and Managing Director of Bath Rugby. His experience also includes involvement in the governance and delivery of major international sporting events, working closely with governing bodies, commercial partners and volunteer led organisations.
After more than 30 years away, Jeremy has made the considered decision to return to Australian waters, relocating with his family to take on this role. He brings valuable international perspective alongside a deep appreciation of club culture, volunteer governance, and the role sailing clubs play within their communities.
I would like to sincerely thank Janelle Whyte for stepping into the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer during this period. Janelle’s leadership, professionalism and steady guidance have been greatly appreciated, and she will continue to assist with the transition as Jeremy commences.
The Board is confident that Jeremy’s experience and leadership approach position him well to lead Fremantle Sailing Club into its next chapter. I look forward to welcoming him to the Club and invite members and staff to join me in extending a warm Fremantle welcome.
