The Melbourne to Hobart follows two outstanding Bass Strait races—the Melbourne to Devonport Rudder Cup, and a week later the Three Hummock Island Race, hosted by Port Dalrymple Yacht Club. Together, the Melbourne to Devonport and Three Hummock races form the inaugural Bass Strait Cup, giving crews the chance to enjoy three iconic Category 2 races across Tasmania and Victoria in the space of two months.

To make the campaign even more attractive for interstate competitors, free berthing will be available for visiting yachts between the Melbourne to Devonport and Three Hummock Island races, with PDYC also hosting a range of social events and local experiences that showcase the renowned hospitality of Northern Tasmania. Free berthing will also be on offer for boats arriving ahead of the Melbourne to Hobart race.

Free shipping of cruising goods to Hobart is also provided so that boats can collect it at the race end and prep for a leisurely cruise home.

Whether crews are looking to tackle a single race or build a complete southern campaign culminating in Hobart, we’d love to welcome them to the ORCV start line this season.
